About me!
Hello, thank you for visiting my website.
My name is Hannah and I’m a London based food-creative. I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember, usually as a result of needing to feed my appetite for good food. I’ve been slowly curating a scarily long list of recipes over the past years which I intend on sharing with the world via this website, and my new instagram page @imhannahpoppycooks.
I am particularly fond of Italian food (I blame part of it on an ex-boyfriend and part of it on my younger brother who is an Italian food fanatic himself), but also really enjoy exploring the world through my plate. During the first (or was it second) lockdown in 2020, I took on sourdough and despite not baking real sourdough that regularly anymore, it did give me a taster of the world of exquisite bread baking and I regularly bake yeasted bread, and will always rather make homemade brioche buns for hotdogs or burgers than buy them!
I wouldn’t be afraid to say that I am self taught, as I have had no formal chef training, but I do watch and read a lot of food content with the intention of learning about new ingredients and conquering new techniques. I own more cookbooks than any one woman should, but I am a firm believer that they make the most beautiful displays as a result of their bold book spines and fantastic photography.
